Elegance Photographie: Wedding Photography & Video FAQs

Planning a destination wedding in Mexico is exciting—but we also know it comes with a lot of decisions. At Elegance Photographie, we want you to feel confident every step of the way. That’s why we’ve gathered answers to the most common questions couples ask us. From choosing the right photo and video team to knowing how long you’ll need us there, this guide is here to help.

1. What’s better: 2 photographers + 2 videographers or 1 photographer + 1 videographer?

Choosing 2 photographers and 2 videographers allows us to split into two dedicated teams—one with the bride and one with the groom—capturing both sides of your “getting ready” experience in real time.

During moments like cocktail hour and group portraits, which often overlap, this setup ensures that no memory is missed. And during shared moments such as the ceremony, it allows us to document both your reactions and those of your guests simultaneously from multiple angles.

It also offers greater creative freedom. We can incorporate lighting techniques, movement, and artistic compositions—like veil tosses or wide scenic shots—for a more cinematic result. If you’re planning to include drone footage, having two videographers for wedding coverage is essential. It’s simply not possible to film handheld and fly a drone at the same time without compromising quality.

2. Can we customize a package with 2 photographers and just 1 videographer?

Absolutely. Some couples prefer a more compact team—whether due to space, comfort, or budget. Others feel more connected to photography and want to prioritize it. That’s why we often offer the option of 2 photographers and 1 videographer.
With this arrangement, our two photographers can split coverage and ensure that both the bride and groom are documented separately—without missing a beat. Meanwhile, the wedding videographer stays with the bride and captures key emotional moments. And thanks to the hybrid expertise of our team, one of the photographers can also record short video segments throughout the day. These can be used in your final wedding film, adding depth and variety to your video.

3. How many hours of coverage do we really need?

It all depends on the kind of wedding celebration you envision.

If you’re planning a private elopement—just the two of you in a magical location—1 to 2 hours is often enough. We’ll capture the ceremony, romantic portraits, and a few scenic moments in your chosen setting.

Full wedding celebrations—from getting ready through a grand exit surrounded by family and friends—typically require between 6 to 8 hours. This allows time for all the beautiful layers of your day: ceremony, portraits, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, toasts, cake cutting, and candid photography in between.

Religious or cultural weddings may require more time, and in some cases, extend over several days. Let us know what kind of celebration you’re planning, and we’ll guide you to the ideal package based on your needs and photographer wedding cost considerations.

4. What is “getting ready” and why is it so special?

“Getting ready” is the emotional beginning of your wedding day—when you’re surrounded by loved ones, laughter, excitement, and maybe a few happy tears. It’s a time of transformation and connection, and we believe it deserves to be remembered.

Many couples choose to add a first look (seeing each other before the ceremony) or a first touch (connecting without seeing each other—like holding hands behind a door). This moment can also include reading your vows in private—an intimate and heartfelt exchange before standing in front of everyone.

We recommend dedicating 1 to 2 hours to this part of your day, depending on what you’d like to include. We’ll typically join during the final 15 minutes of hair and makeup, capture details (like rings, dress, suit, shoes), and document those spontaneous, candid moments with your bridal party or close family.

5. What if we’re not good at posing or feel awkward in front of the camera?

You’re not alone. Many couples tell us the same thing—and that’s exactly why our approach works. Clem and the Elegance Photographie team specialize in creating a relaxed, supportive environment where you feel free to be yourself.

We use empathy, observation, and gentle guidance to help you feel at ease. No stiff poses. No pressure. Just natural connection and timeless elegance. Our candid photographers are experts at capturing authentic emotions, so even camera-shy couples look natural and radiant.

6. Do you know our wedding venue?

With over a decade of experience working in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum, we’ve photographed and filmed weddings at most of the top venues in the area. Whether you’re looking for a wedding photographer in Tulum, Cancún, or the Riviera Maya, our team knows how to bring out the beauty of every location.

Even if we’ve worked at your venue before, we always arrive 1 to 1.5 hours early to do a fresh scouting of the property. Venues often make layout or décor changes, and we want to adapt creatively and find the best lighting, angles, and backgrounds—every single time.

7. What’s your editing style?

We blend multiple photography types to tell your love story in the most authentic and artistic way:

  • Documentary – Real, unposed moments.
  • Candid / Informal – Spontaneous joy, laughter, and emotion.
  • Fine Art / Editorial – Polished and refined, magazine-style.
  • Lifestyle – Natural interaction with a touch of direction.

Every wedding is different, and Clem and the team adapt to your energy, your setting, and your personal style—always with attention to detail and a signature touch of warmth and elegance.

8. When will we receive our photos and videos?

The full selection and editing process takes up to 9 weeks, as each image and clip is reviewed with care by Clem to ensure everything meets your expectations. Regardless of the package you select, we guarantee a minimum of 50 edited photos per hour of coverage.

To ease the wait, many of our packages include a Sneak Peek—a preview of 100+ edited photos—delivered within 1 week of your wedding. Depending on your chosen coverage, you may also receive a Coming Soon teaser video (under 1 minute) within 2 weeks, capturing the joy and rhythm of your day in a beautiful highlight you can share with loved ones.

9. Are your packages flexible?

Yes—entirely. All our packages are starting points. Think of them as inspiration, not limitations.

We understand how challenging it can be to plan and book from a distance. That’s why our team is here to support you at every stage—offering guidance, answering questions, and adjusting as needed so you feel confident and stress-free throughout the journey.

Whether your celebration is in Cancun, Tulum, or anywhere in the Riviera Maya, Elegance Photographie adapts to your vision to ensure your wedding photography and film tell your story beautifully.
